Bright and orange–what did you say that was?
Posted in Uncategorized on May 29, 2008 by lbt69I saw a few Bullock’s Orioles around my house, and thought nothing of it. then, a week later there were four, not two. Now I can enjoy eight orioles from my back porch, watching them squabble with some local Acorn Woodpeckers. flitting around, and teasing my cat, they are a beautiful sight.

Ash-Throated Nesters
Posted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2008 by lbt69I have recently seen a pair of Ash-throated Flycatchers nesting near my house. Here’s a photo of an Ash-Throated, sitting in it’s natural habitat. The Ash-Throated is an amazingly intriguing bird. With a flashy yellow chest, dark, ashy throat, and conspicuous orangish flashes on the wing, it will always be among my favorites, and always be a delight to see when I peer through my binoculars and…there it is!
