I’ve been lately seeing a pair of Olive-Sided Flycatchers around my house. These wonderful birds are now the jewel of my day, to see them flitting around my house, flashing their white chest and stomach patches. the below photo shows a flycatcher in all it’s glory as it sits on a snag of branches against a picturesque sky.
Olive-Sided Flycatcher, showing white flashes on its belly and chest.
I saw a few Bullock’s Orioles around my house, and thought nothing of it. then, a week later there were four, not two. Now I can enjoy eight orioles from my back porch, watching them squabble with some local Acorn Woodpeckers. flitting around, and teasing my cat, they are a beautiful sight.

I have recently seen a pair of Ash-throated Flycatchers nesting near my house. Here’s a photo of an Ash-Throated, sitting in it’s natural habitat. The Ash-Throated is an amazingly intriguing bird. With a flashy yellow chest, dark, ashy throat, and conspicuous orangish flashes on the wing, it will always be among my favorites, and always be a delight to see when I peer through my binoculars and…there it is!

At Beatlesrockr’s suggestion, this thread is about Peregrine Falcons.

I’d like to write a page about my ‘life with the birds’ as i call it. for instance, yesterday morning i saw both Hutton’s & Warbling Vireos outside my window. i’d like to share how profoundly magical this experience was, not to mention other sightings.

Here’s where I put…most things things that are–well–random. post anything about birds, (or wildlife in general) .

This is my birding checklist page; in short, you can put everything you see on here, and if you have any problems with identifying a bird, post it, and you can get answers.
